I decided to run for the legislature because it is clear that education is no longer a priority for our Governor or for the Republican majority. Molly Donahue to run for District 68

Longtime area educator Molly Donahue has officially filed her paperwork to run as a Democrat for State Representative in House District 68. This district includes the communities of Marion, Bertram, Ely, parts of Cedar Rapids, and Putnam Township.

“I am running because I believe we can do better for the citizens of Iowa,” said Donahue. “Politicians in Iowa are putting special interests ahead of hard-working Iowans. Our political system is broken. We could learn lessons from my parents and serve constituents in a bi-partisan way. That means working together to solve the issues that confront us as Iowans: quality health care, safe communities, clean air and water, first-class education, good jobs with good pay, and an economy that works for everyone, not just special interests groups in and out of state.”

These six women are already using their voices to fight back and speak up for the needs of their communities. Electing pro-choice Democratic women to be at the table is crucial to ensuring Iowa voters finally have the voice they deserve.”
